Angolans edge out USMA
AS Aviacao 1-0 USM Alger

Angolan champions AS Aviacao scored after just 11 minutes to beat Algeria's USM Alger in the opening match of the African Champions League in Luanda on Saturday.

Malamba timed his run into the penalty area to perfection to latch onto Fofana's square pass for the only goal of the game.

USMA's veteran midfielder Billel Dziri hit the upright in the 32nd minute - and the rebound hit AS defender Sergio, who recovered in time to prevent an own goal.

In the second half, USMA goalkeeper Mohamed Hichem Mezair made a spectacular save to deny substitute 'Love'.

Aviacao never looked like conceding their lead in front of 12,000 fans in the Angolan capital.
