Asec have been stuggling in the competition |
Asec Mimosas v Enyimba, KO Sunday 1600gmt
Asec Mimosas know they have to put their slow start in the Champions League group stage behind them and beat second-placed Enyimba on Sunday.
The Ivorians have picked up just one point from their first three group games, meaning nothing less than a victory will suffice in this home tie.
 | We cannot afford to lose this match |
Asec's coach Basile Aka Kouame is aware of the mission his team must accomplish.
"It's a very important match for us," Aka Kouame told BBC Sport website.
"We can't afford to lose, and we can't even allow ourselves to draw. We have to do everything we can to beat Enyimba in Abidjan."
Defence
Enyimba beat Asec 3-1 in Aba and Kouame admits that the Nigerian champions left a strong impression on him.
Sambo admits the fans have been let down |
"It's a young, physical team, that plays very good football," he said. "Last time, we weren't able to contain them at the start, because we conceded a goal after three minutes.
"We weren't able to sort our defence out, so we have worked very hard on this aspect of our game."
Asec fans have not been hesitant in showing their displeasure with the team's poor form.
Winger Soga Sambo, a Nigerian import, knows the team must get better results if they are to regain their supporters respect.
"We pray that they are going to be happy on Sunday, but there is a lot of pressure on us."
However, the Asec star said he was convinced that they would rise to the challenge.
"I have the feeling we are going to do something special in the last three group games."
Pressure
Enyimba hope to secure their first away win in the competition, after a humiliating 6-1 loss to Ismailia.
Club chairman Felix Anyansi Agwu said that it was his team's recent win over Asec that gave the club's continental campaign a new lease of life.
Agwu says the pressure is on Asec |
"We are happy that by beating Asec last time our confidence has been restored, having previously lost 6-1 in Ismaili, Egypt," he said. "We are here in Abidjan with seriousness and are focused on getting a result."
Agwu reiterated their determination to become the first Nigerian clubside to reach the pinnacle of the African game.
"We are out to break that jinx this year. We have young talented players and we are all committed. I believe we have everything it takes to bring that cup to Nigeria.
"We are here to play total football because Asec will be under pressure. The heat is on them," Anyasi insists.
