Zambia's Power Dynamos enhanced their Cup Winners Cup semi-final prospects with a 2-1 victory over defending champions Wydad Casablanca in a quarter-final, first leg tie in Kitwe.
Rwandese-born striker John Lomani was the man-of-the-match, scoring both Dynamos' goals to sink the Moroccan side.
His opener came in the 16th minute, dribbling past Wydad's defence before unleashing a powerful volley past goalkeeper Laaraj Hicham.
However, Wydad came close to drawing level a minute later, when Baliafid Omar's shot was cleared off the line by Ken Muma.
But Lomani then combined with Dears Kankunta to hit the winner twelve minutes from the final whistle.
He latched onto a pass and hit the ball into the right hand corner of the net, beyond the reach of the outstretched Hicham.
An unmarked Imadihi Mohammed got Wydad's solitary goal in the 88th minute, taking advantage of a sleep-walking Dynamos defence.
Wydad's important away goal means they only need a 1-0 win in Casablanca to make it to the last four.
In the Caf Cup, Nigeria's Rangers International made their claim for a semi-final place with a 4-0 trouncing of Egypt's Al Ahly at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium in Enugu.
In Harare, army side Black Rhinos drew 1-1 with Raja Casablanca of Morocco on Sunday to leave themselves with a difficult second leg in North Africa.
Nouredine Harouach gave the visitors the lead after 18 minutes but Mernard Mupera's 87-minute strike ensured the draw.
