Balde says Guinea must work hard

Guinea defender Bobo Balde has warned his colleagues that intensive preparations are needed for next year's Nations Cup finals in Tunisia.

A 3-0 win over Ethiopia on Sunday took the Syli National to their third finals in 10 years.

"The Nations Cup will be a lot harder, but for the moment just let me savour this victory!," said Balde.

"I can go back and play for my [Scottish] team, Celtic, and in January and February we will be in the African Cup."

Balde's Celtic team mate Mohammed Sylla shared his joy with the Guinean supporters.

"Look at how happy everyone is! Just look at them, what else can I say?"

Sylla said nothing less than a quarter-final place would be a satisfactory performance at the Nations Cup.

"We have a lot of quality players. Even the players on the bench are good, so I think we can [reach the quarter-finals].

Smoking his victory cigarette, Guinea coach Michel Dussuyer was wary of setting any such targets.

But he was sure of the fact that he was managing a 'good team.'

"I have many quality players, many forwards," Dussuyer told BBC Sport.

"But I need to complete the group with midfielders and defenders.

"We will try to work hard to develop the group. But I must congratulate the players who played really well against Ethiopia."
