Cameroon reach group stage

Cameroon are the current Olympic champions
Eleven nations have qualified for the final elimination stage of Africa's qualifying series for the 2004 Olympic football tournament.

Cameroon, winners of the Olympic title in 2000, Nigeria, Ghana and Ethiopia are among the countries that will play in the group format.

Ivory Coast and Senegal are also through to the next phase, after their opponents withdrew.

Four groups, comprising of four teams each, will play in a round-robin format.

The winner in each group will go to Athens.

However, the list of qualifiers is not complete, as second leg ties between Algeria v Chad and Morocco v Gambia were postponed.

Tunisia received a bye to the group phase of the qualifiers.

The tournament is being played at under-23 level.

Namibia 1-2 Nigeria
Nigeria win 3-1 on aggregate
