Swaziland have dropped three players ahead of their Nations Cup qualifier against Botswana this weekend. Mugane Makana, Sibusiso Ronald and Celemusa Vilakati will all miss the game, after they were caught drinking beer and smoking marijuana while on international duty.
The incident took place in Maseru, the capital of Lesotho, after the Sihlangu ('Shield') travelled there for a friendly in May, the Times of Swaziland has reported.
Thus the trio were ruled out of Swaziland's last game against Congo Democratic Republic a fortnight ago.
But it is not clear whether the suspensions will be lifted or extended after this weekend's game.
"The players were found smoking some herbs and drinking beer in Maseru," said a spokesman for the Swaziland FA. "The coach was infuriated by their behaviour and had no choice but to drop them after calling for a disciplinary hearing."
Swaziland lost 2-0 Congo DR on 8 June - a result left the Sihlangu third in Group 9.
The Swazis must win if they are to retain any hopes of qualifying for the Nations Cup finals in Tunisia next year.
