Rafik Khan had been acting as chairman |
The board of the Zimbabwe Football Association has been paralysed following the resignation of three members. Acting vice-chairman Rafik Khan, acting treasurer Cuthbert Dube and Charles Westerfall have quit over concerns of lack of transparency and professionalism.
This has left the board unable to form a quorum for its meetings - while the board should consist of nine members, there are now only four members remaining.
Chairman Leo Mugabe and treasurer James Mutisi, who died last month, were ousted in December in a vote of no confidence over the alleged misuse of $61,575 of Fifa money.
"We're professional men with names to protect and our continued association with the board will only assist to destroy our reputation and integrity," said Dube.

In a 23-point document, Khan and Dube highlighted the lack of urgency by the board to address questionable foreign currency dealings at Zifa. An audit carried out by Fifa has revealed irregularities in the use of Fifa grants, including in the rates of exchange quoted in the Zifa accounts.
"On several occasions we raised in board meetings the issue of foreign currency dealings, and the silence and lack of explanation has been deafening," said Khan.
"We also wanted to look at the administration and the staff at Zifa - it's a big issue."
"Zifa are repeating the same mistakes over and over again, there's a lack of transparency, and for the sake of football we have decided to sacrifice ourselves."
Zifa has not held elections for a new executive following Mugabe's departure, and Mugabe's deputy Vincent Pamire is now the acting chairman.
