Sylva believes he is out of favour at Monaco |
Senegal goalkeeper Tony Sylva said he cannot get a first team place at Monaco because he is not favoured by Didier Deschamps.
Deschamps, who is manager of the French first division side, has made Italian goalkeeper Flavio Roma his first choice for the current season.
Sylva briefly replaced Roma when he was injured but was sent back to the reserves as soon as the Italian recovered.
"I believe my situation has nothing to do with my lack of talent but comes down to the personal choice of the manager.
"It is very difficult to accept my current situation and deal with it, but this is the situation that I am in," he told BBC Sport in Johannesburg.
Sylva, who received the 'Goalkeeper of the Year' title at the recent African football awards in South Africa, is ready to listen to offers from other European clubs.
Deschamps prefers Roma as his first choice keeper |
"I'm really honoured to be picked as the best goalkeeper in Africa.
"But I'm 27 now and have been on the bench [of my club] for some time now.
"Obviously, if a club comes up with a good proposal for me, I will leave. But this has not happened yet and my club is yet to let me go.
"In any case, I have one year left on my contract and we have to see what happens."
