Group summary
The Democratic Republic of Congo certainly smiled after being handed this relatively easy group although they did not win a single match on the road. But, as has happened so often in the past, they got the points they needed in Kinshasa.
Libya could have qualified had they not stumbled at home against Botswana, who held them to a goalless draw in Tripoli early in the campaign. Swaziland briefly threatened to gate-crash the party at Tunisia 2004 but eventually ran out of steam when it mattered most.
