Birmingham v Man Utd: Manchester United need to win to regain top spot from neighbours Manchester City and, as he has for more than 20 years, Ryan Giggs leads from the front with a typically determined display
After a goalless first half, Man Utd step it up in the second and take the lead when Dimitar Berbatov fires home with a clinical finish following a rapid counterattack involving Darron Gibson
Birmingham, who need a point to climb out of the bottom three, battle hard but struggle to create any clear chances in their first game since 12 December
But there's drama in the last minute when Nikola Zigic appears to deflect a cross with his arm and Lee Bowyer fires home the equaliser to stun the visiting team, but United return to the top on goal difference
West Ham United v Everton (1730 GMT): Buoyant from the win at Fulham but with Carlton Cole on the bench, the Hammers are on the up and out of the drop zone when Radoslav Kovac's effort goes in off Tony Hibbert
The Merseyside outfit are worth an equaliser which they get through Seamus Coleman to finish a lovely sweep from box to box involving Steven Pienaar, Mikel Arteta and Tim Cahill
Manchester City 4-0 Aston Villa: Despite perpetual rumblings at Eastlands, City can go top of the table, if only for a few hours, but start with their two ex-Villa players and captain Carlos Tevez on the bench
Villa, however, start with all the resistance and verve of a damp rag, with Mario Balotelli being hauled down in the box by Eric Lichaj and converting the subsequent penalty
Villa's form is compounded by their luck when Joleon Lescott's header is cleared off the line by Barry Bannan only for a second goal to be given, though the visitors raise no protest
David Silva dances his way through the away defence and his shot is only parried to Balotelli, unmarked, to get his second goal, 3-0 to the home team with half-an-hour gone
City continue to bully the game and Balotelli gets his hat-trick, a second from the spot, after Marc Albrighton brings down Adam Johnson with a half-hearted attempt at a tackle
Stoke City 0-2 Fulham: The Cottagers make the best start in attempting to arrest their slide down the table when defender Chris Baird fires home from 20 yards after four minutes
Fulham double their lead on 12 minutes but more surprising than the score is the scorer, given the Cottagers lack of goals, Baird getting his second of the day from a clever free-kick routine
Sunderland v Blackpool: Maybe the Seasiders are rusty, the weather eating away at their fixtures, but Darren Bent, Asamoah Gyan and Danny Welbeck find chances all too easily, though the first half ends goalless
Blackpool, though, already have five wins away from home this season and take the lead through DJ Campbell, ex-Brentford and Hayes, from Neal Eardley's cross
Another cross, another goal for Campbell late on to seal a feat that Manchester United and Arsenal couldn't manage - a win at the Stadium of Light this season
Tottenham Hostpur 2-0 Newcastle United: The Magpies have found good form in the capital this season with wins at West Ham and Arsenal while Spurs have a shot at a Champions League place today
Tim Krul keeps out Roman Pavlyuchenko on the stroke of half time with possibly the save of the season but Aaron Lennon breaks the deadlock when Newcastle allow him too much space
Newcastle continue to niggle and nip at Spurs with a series of aggressive challenges but it is Spurs' Younnes Kaboul who sees red for taking the bait and feigning a headbutt at Chieck Tiote
But Tottenham's attacking philosophy will not slip, Gareth Bale getting an excellent second on the break, and, with two goal-line clearances in injury time, Spurs keep only their second clean sheet of the season
West Bromwich Albion 1-3 Blackburn Rovers: The visitors take an early lead when Nikola Kalinic is set free down the left and tucks the ball past Scott Carson only for Jerome Thomas to equalise on the counter-attack
He may have been eight games without a goal but Rovers striker Kalinic gets his second of the game, his fourth of the season, turning in Ryan Nelsen's header from a corner
Rovers have a two-goal cushion through Mame Biram Diouf but are a man down following a red card for brace-scoring Kalinic who lunges in recklessly on Paul Scharner
Diouf then beats Gabriel Tamas with a little jink, leaving West Brom open on the break, only for Tamas to haul his man down and see himself sent off, both sides finishing with 10 men
