England U21 2-0 Uzbekistan U21

Danny Rose and Martin Kelly scored as England Under-21s secured a comfortable win over their counterparts from Uzbekistan at Ashton Gate.

Rose's low 20-yard strike broke the deadlock for a dominant England side midway through the second half.

Liverpool's Martin Kelly headed home a cross from Kyle Walker to seal the win 11 minutes from time.

At the other end, new England senior call-up - goalkeeper Frankie Fielding - did not have a worthwhile save to make.

England Under-21 coach Stuart Pearce:
"Would Fabio Capello be happy with that? I can only speak about what I saw and we played as well as we have done for the last year to a man.

"There was some great interchange play and the only thing we were lacking was not putting the ball in the net a few more times.

"There is no such thing as a meaningless friendly and we have sent 17 players back to their clubs with the feel-good factor and that will benefit me, the nation and the clubs."
