FA and Football League seek to resolve Wembley clash

Talks to decide where the 2011 Football League play-off finals will be held are ongoing, BBC Sport understands.

Wembley Stadium was double booked after the Football Association was awarded the right to host next season's Champions League final on 28 May 2011.

The European showpiece clashes with the Football League play-offs, leaving the FA in breach of a 20-year agreement.

But the FA and Football League are said to be working towards a resolution and a decision is expected shortly.

The BBC's senior football reporter, Ian Dennis, said: "Both sides are actively pursuing a resolution and I understand there will be clarity in the next few weeks."

The Football League has a 100-match contract to hold five play-off finals every season for 20 years at Wembley.

These games are usually held over the Spring bank holiday weekend at the end of May.

Wembley has not staged a European final since 1992 when Barcelona beat Sampdoria in the year before the competition was renamed.
