1802: That's your lot then. Thanks as always for your magnificent efforts this weekend. I can honestly tell you it's been a blast, especially today: two cracking Cup ties. Champions League returns on Tuesday. AC Milan v Man United anyone? Yep, thought so.

Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock: "I'm absolutely devastated. All my career I've had to battle against the odds. We played a Premier League team and worked our socks off. The first goal was a bit iffy but the second was a disgrace. It came off Delfouneso. The referee and linesman waited and waited and then gave a corner because it's a Premier League team. The linesman should be banned for weeks for that and all he did was smile. All they said was, 'We'll watch it on video and get feedback from our assessors'. Villa were fantastic. It was a great, committed Cup tie but they should have lost. How two officials cannot see that's a goal-kick... that's an absolute disgrace. We've got talent and commitment, we're a genuine club with great fans. Their team sheet frightens you and I though we were going to get swallowed up early on. But it was a great game."

From BBC 5 live's Jacqui Oatley on Twitter: "Warnock fuming about corner given for Petrov's equaliser, forgetting Butterfield's first v Wolves came from corner that shouldn't have been."

1754: Neil Warnock is fuming (surprised?) because he didn't think it should have been a corner for Villa's goal. Someone else has just texted the same thing. I must admit, I was a little bit under the cosh at the time so I didn't see. Just call me Arsene Wenger.

1751: And indeed as WAYNEEBCFC on 606, it could be Terry v Bridge at the Bridge. The FA Cup quarter-finals take place over the weekend of 6/7 March by the way.

1750: Early thoughts? All the remaining Championship sides in one tie there. Another home draw for holders Chelsea - although I don't think you can call that an easy draw.

Portsmouth v Birmingham

Reading/West Brom v Crystal Palace/Aston Villa

Fulham v Bolton/Spurs

Chelsea v Man City/Stoke

1747: The balls are going into the bowl. Here we go.

1745: Draw coming up shortly. Only Birmingham, Fulham, Chelsea and Portsmouth are definitely in the quarter-finals. Four fifth-round ties have gone to replays.

1742: Palace, although they led twice, won't be too disappointed with a replay given their financial plight, and it was probably a fair result too. That replay will be on Wednesday 24 February, five days before Villa meet Man United in the Carling Cup final.

1740: FULL-TIME Crystal Palace 2-2 Aston Villa

1739: Ashley Young attempts to meet Stewart Downing's inswinging cross with a diving header but he's not quite tall enough. A Villa winner now would be cruel on Palace.

1737: We're in added time. Alan Lee is replaced by Calvin Andrew for Palace.

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
Villa goal: Four minutes remaining and have Villa got out of jail? Julian Speroni makes a mind-blowingly brillant save from John Carew's header, somehow pushing it away for a corner. But Stiliyan Petrov meets Stewart Downing's right-wing delivery at the near post with a glancing header which nestles in the far corner.

1731: GOALFLASH Crystal Palace 2-2 Aston Villa (Petrov)

Yellow card
1729: Palace's Alan Lee picks up the latest yellow card for a clash with Stephen Warnock. Warnock needs some treatment. Not sure if that's a new injury, or the earlier bloody nose causing him more bother.

Mark Bright on BBC 5 live: "Villa are just hooking things forward for John Carew now. I'm looking for something different from the Premier League side."

1723: "Shoooooot," urge the Palace fans as Danny Butterfield picks up the ball far left. That would be audacious. Twelve minutes left for Palace to hang on, or Villa to force a replay.

1721: Anxious moments for the Palace fans. John Carew gets his head to a long free-kick but Julian Speroni tips over brilliantly. From the corner, Nathaniel Clyne blocks James Collins' close-range effort on the line.

Yellow card
1719: Martin O'Neill decides it's time for a change. Fabien Delph - who has just been booked for a lunging challenge - is replaced by Nathan Delfouneso.

Someone has struck the woodwork
1717: It's a Cup thriller - and the noise is all from the Palace fans now. Darren Ambrose's looping header clips the top of the bar, with Brad Friedel grasping at thin air. They can't do this. Can they?

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
Palace goal: Selhurst Park is rocking again as Darren Ambrose smacks in a swerving free-kick from 30 yards. Brad Freidel maybe slightly at fault again as he gets a hand to it but can't keep it out. What a hit though. Still 20 minutes remaining.

1715: GOALFLASH Crystal Palace 2-1 Aston Villa (Ambrose)

1713: Horrible mistake by Nathaniel Clyne and Ashley Young hurtles into the area. He waits for support on the right, but not for long enough. His driven ball across goal is nowhere near his team-mates.

1711: Still 25 minutes remaining at Selhurst Park where there's a short delay as Palace keeper Julian Speroni re-ties a shoelace.

Yellow card
1709: Claude Davis is none too happy as he is handed a yellow card for a challenge on James Milner. The Palace defender got the ball, but took a lot of Milner at the same time. Palace scramble the free-kick clear.

From jojomarchliverpool on 606: "Come on Palace. Put Butterfield up front."

1705: Ashley Young finds the overlapping Stephen Warnock on the left but the left-back's cross goes straight of play beyond the far post.

1700: For the second time today, I'm looking at a player with cotton wool stuffed up his nose. This time, Villa's Stephen Warnock.

1656: Half a shout from those Villa fans for a penalty as Fabian Delph plays in James Milner, who goes shoulder to shoulder with Palace defender Danny Butterfield - hat-trick hero of the last round. Milner just slipped though, and didn't appeal.

1654: Good strike from substitute John Carew, but Julian Speroni is equal to it. Villa fans in very good voice as this second half progresses.

BBC Sport's Chris Bevan tweeting from Selhurst Park: "O'Neill has a superb League Cup record but has never made the quarter-finals of the FA Cup as a boss. Palace will hope that bad run continues..."

1654: FULL-TIME Fulham 4-0 Notts County

1651: John Carew replaces Emile Heskey for Villa as the second half kicks off at Selhurst Park.

1647: Better late than never, some descriptions of those last two Fulham goals: Damien Duff collected the ball on the right of the box, took a couple of touches inside and shot through the legs of the defender and inside the near post. Stefano Okaka galloped through, taking advantage of some very League Two defending, as he twice faked to shoot before finally slotting past Kasper Schmeichel.

1643: Don't forget the quarter-final draw is coming up after Palace-Villa at about 1745 GMT. For those of you who like to know these things, here are the ball numbers: 1 Crystal Palace or Aston Villa, 2 Manchester City or Stoke City, 3 Birmingham City, 4 Bolton Wanderers or Tottenham Hotspur, 5 Chelsea, 6 Fulham or Notts Co, 7 Reading or West Bromwich Albion, 8 Portsmouth.

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
Fulham goal: Fulham have scored another goal. Stefano Okaka, on as a replacement for Bobby Zamora, scores it, perhaps atoning for that shocking/hilarious two-yard miss on his debut.

1638: GOALFLASH Fulham 4-0 Notts County (Okaka)

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
Fulham goal: Fulham have scored a goal. I don't have a lot more detail. It appears Damien Duff's shot crept inside the post. Sorry. Even for me, that is a quite pathetic description of a goal.

1633: GOALFLASH Fulham 3-0 Notts County (Duff)

1632: Alan Lee, who is causing the Villa defence all kinds of bother, wins a free-kick at James Collins' expense. About 35 yards out. Darren Ambrose's thumping free-kick comes off the wall and Brad Friedel does brilliantly to punch it away from danger.

BBC Sport's Chris Bevan tweeting from Selhurst Park: "Villa fans chanting 'It's all gone quiet over there'... and it has. Collins' equaliser silences Palace supporters for the first time today."

1624: Another sizzling Cup tie at Selhurst Park. We are being spoilt today folks. For Villa, Stiliyan Petrov heads inches wide from James Milner's corner and for Palace, Alan Lee slices a volley across goal amid a right old scramble in the Villa box.

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
Villa goal: Palace's lead lasts 11 minutes as Villa get the equaliser before half-time. Stewart Downing whips over a vicious free-kick from the right and James Collins glances the header in at the near post.

1621: GOALFLASH Crystal Palace 1-1 Aston Villa (Collins)

1621: Fulham still leading Notts County 2-0 in the second half at the Cottage. Looks like League Two's hopes of lifting the Cup end today.

From Andy D, Birmingham, via text: "Re 1604: are Notts County likely to bring on a unicorn ridden by the musician Prince in the second half? I think I like this imaginary FA Cup lark."

1616: Villa might complain about Friedel getting blocked by Alan Lee for that goal, but if you ask me, Stephen Warnock was as much to blame for the keeper's failure to reach the cross. Just a good training-ground move by Palace in my humble opinion.

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
Palace goal: There's one for the romantics among you, if not the Villa fans. Darren Ambrose takes the corner from the left and Johannes Ertl heads in his first goal for the club, Brad Friedel coming to clear but getting caught up in a group of players. Insania at Selhurst Park.

1610: GOALFLASH Crystal Palace 1-0 Aston Villa (Ertl)

1606: Big shout for a penalty at Selhurst Park... but not given. Stiliyan Petrov plays in Ashley Young, who appears to get a shove from Nathaniel Clyne. Kevin Friend proves to be no friend of Martin O'Neill's side. Sorry.

1604: I imagine they are back under way in Fulham-Notts County. Imagining is all I can do at this moment when it comes to that game.

1558: Claude Davis makes a vital saving challenge to stop Richard Dunne getting to Emile Heskey's knock-back. It's been a good day for people called Davis/Davies so far.

1556: The TV cameras find Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner in the crowd, the Villa fans responding with a chant of "There's only one Randy Lerner". Wonder if the American fancies adding a club in south London to his portfolio? (Although might have to break a few FA rules first)

BBC Sport's Chris Bevan tweeting from Selhurst Park: "Cracking atmosphere at Selhurst Pk. Great support from Eagles fans scenting an upset. Administrators probably want a replay, mind."

1551: I notice Bobby Zamora has taken to celebrating every goal by cupping his hand to his ear. Maybe time to get over it? Nice move by Fulham for their second, couple of first-time passes before Zamora chested it down and powered past the defender before finishing clinically.

1550: HALF-TIME Fulham 2-0 Notts County

1548: Villa striker Emile Heskey is in a spot of bother already after a challenge by the touchline. Looks like he'll be OK to come back on through.

1546: Off they go at the Palace.

1543: Out come the players at Selhurst Park where there's something of a festival atmosphere. The club, the players, and their manager are all basically up for sale in front of the TV cameras today. Rumours have it that Neil Warnock could be a target for QPR.

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
Fulham goal: Fulham striker Bobby Zamora enhances his England claims yet further, holding off the challenge before slamming the finish into the bottom corner.

1543: GOALFLASH Fulham 2-0 Notts County (Zamora)

Martin O'Neill on why he has picked such a strong side: "Well, it's the FA Cup..."

1537: Just a reminder that the quarter-final draw follows Palace-Villa at about 1745 GMT. Stay tuned.

From The Understudy on 606: "Heskey starts... ALONE???!!! At least play the Fonz with him!"

1528: TEAM NEWS Crystal Palace v Aston Villa
Crystal Palace make one change from the side beaten by Swansea last Saturday as Claude Davis comes in for the Cup-tied Lee Hills. Gabriel Agbonlahor misses out for Aston Villa with a leg injury and is replaced by Emile Heskey, while Stephen Warnock replaces Carlos Cuellar. Brad Friedel starts in goal for the first time in a cup game this season.

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
Fulham goal: Notts County, the only League Two side left in the FA Cup, hold out for 22 minutes before going behind. Simon Davies latches on to a long ball from Brede Hangeland, before slotting past Kasper Schmeichel in the Magpies' goal.

1524: GOALFLASH Fulham 1-0 Notts County (Davies)

1523: FULL-TIME Bolton 1-1 Tottenham

1522: Hearts in mouths time for the Bolton fans as Jermain Defoe flashes a 25-yard effort wide, with Jussi Jaaskelainen standing and watching.

1521: Three minutes of added time remaining at the Reebok.

1520: I'm hearing Notts County are settling after a shaky start against Fulham and Ben Davies' shot is well saved by Mark Schwarzer.

1518: TEAMS Crystal Palace v Aston Villa
Crystal Palace: Speroni, Clyne, Butterfield, Ertl, Davis, Hill, Ambrose, Derry, Danns, Carle, Lee. Subs: Manns, Scannell, Lawrence, Andrew, Djilali, N'Diaye, Wynter.
Aston Villa: Friedel, Luke Young, Dunne, Collins, Warnock, Ashley Young, Milner, Delph, Petrov, Downing, Heskey. Subs: Guzan, Sidwell, Carew, Delfouneso, Davies, Beye, Cuellar.

1516: Peter Crouch nods down David Bentley's cross but Andy O'Brien gets there ahead of Niko Kranjcar to hook the ball clear. Three minutes remaining and Tamir Cohen comes on for Bolton, Matt Taylor making way.

1511: Nine minutes remaining at the Reebok. There'll be an almost welcome break in the frantic action as Sam Ricketts gets some attention from the physio.

1507: Two Bolton defenders go to clear the same cross and the ball comes out to Gareth Bale, who smashes it onto Peter Crouch's head. Could have gone anywhere. Went wide.

1505: Terribly sorry. I neglected to tell you that Fulham v Notts County has kicked off. Having some trouble with pictures of that game at the moment (ie I have none) but will do my best to keep you updated.

1504: Owen Coyle needs to do something to change this. Maybe a substitution will do the trick. Chung-Yong Lee, who has not been nearly as influential in the second half, is replaced by Mark Davies.

Someone has won a penalty
1502: The details: Peter Crouch tries to hook the ball over Sam Ricketts, the Bolton defender lifting his arm to clear. Penalty. Jermain Defoe missed against Leeds in the last round, so it's Tom Huddlestone to take - but it's too close to Jussi Jaaskelainen and the Bolton keeper dives to his right to save.

1501: PENALTY SAVED!

1500: PENALTY TO TOTTENHAM

1456: Spurs in the ascendancy now. Wilson Palacios fires narrowly over after an excellent move, and now Jermain Defoe forces Jussi Jaaskelainen into a flying save down to his left.

1455: Owen Coyle's brow is definitely furrowed. That doesn't stop him replacing Zat Knight with Andy O'Brien. 'Arry brings Niko Kranjcar on for Luka Modric.

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
Tottenham goal: Well, I did say they needed a second didn't I? Nice move by Spurs, Luka Modric to Gareth Bale on the left and Jermain Defoe takes one touch before finishing off the outstretched leg of Sam Ricketts. Harry Redknapp jubilates.

1449: GOALFLASH Bolton 1-1 Tottenham (Defoe)

Someone has struck the woodwork
Someone has struck the woodwork
1445: Things are warming up. BIG TIME. Kevin Davies plays a fabulous ball out of defence to send Johan Elmander away down the left. He pulls the ball back for Fabrice Muamba, who miscues his shot from the edge of the box horribly. Spurs go straight up the other end and hit the woodwork twice in quick succession, first through Peter Crouch's header and then when Wilson Palacios's shot hits Paul Robinson, bounces over Jussi Jaaskelainen and clips the top of the bar. Proper end-to-end stuff.

From Jimmy, London, via text: "The missus has allowed me to watch the football! Wishing I wasn't so far. Slick Bolton, and we're playing long ball! Keep it on the deck lads."

1442: TEAM NEWS Fulham v Notts County
Fulham name the same side that beat Burnley 3-0 in the Premier League last Tuesday. The only change they do make comes on the bench where Swedish right-back Frederik Stoor replaces Stephen Kelly. Notts County make one change from the side that lost 2-1 at Bournemouth in their last league fixture. Defender Jamie Clapham comes in for striker Karl Hawley as the Magpies adopt an understandably cautious approach against a side ranked 65 league places above them.

1441: More one-touch passing from Bolton, moving the ball on to Johan Elmander, who can only find the side netting from a tight angle.

1438: Apparently, Spurs coach Clive Allen had a right old go at ref Phil Dowd in the tunnel at half-time over his failure to allow David Bentley back onto the pitch just before the Bolton goal. Dowd apparently told Allen he had in fact waved Bentley back on, but the Spurs staff failed to see.

1437: Bolton desperately seeking a second and Spurs are relieved to see Kevin Davies' well-struck shot hit Michael Dawson - and go behind for a corner.

1436: TEAMS Fulham v Notts County
Fulham: Schwarzer, Baird, Hughes, Hangeland, Shorey, Duff, Etuhu, Murphy, Davies, Zamora, Elm. Subs: Zuberbuhler, Okaka, Nevland, Riise, Stoor, Smalling, Greening.
Notts County: Schmeichel, Hunt, Edwards, Thompson, Davies, Ravenhill, Bishop, Clapham, Westcarr, Jackson, Hughes. Subs: Hoult, Lee, Hamshaw, Hawley, Fairclough, Rodgers, Akinbiyi.

1435: Owen Coyle bellows some last-minute instructions from the touchline as we get under way in the second half.

1432: The hard-working optajoe has come up with a cracker: "Spurs haven't won in any competition since August after failing to score in the first half - a run of 13 games."

1425: I don't want to go on about how good that Bolton goal was, because I don't want to sound patronising... But it really is quite special. Arsenal would have been very proud of that one.

1421: The good news for Bolton is that they're ahead and playing very well. The bad news is they're only one ahead and Spurs have a lot of room for improvement.

1420: HALF-TIME Bolton 1-0 Tottenham

Yellow card
1418: Phil Dowd's yellow card will get worn out at this rate. Matt Taylor and Jermain Defoe pick up the latest bookings for a spot of handbaggage.

Yellow card
1415: England boss Fabio Capello is in the crowd at Reebok Stadium, by the way... Zat Knight's awful challenge on Gareth Bale earns him a card of the yellow variety. Matt Taylor clears the free-kick at the near post.

From optajoe on Twitter: "Kevin Davies has scored four goals in his last three appearances for Bolton against Tottenham. Target."

From Serious_Steve on 606: "It's a travesty that Kevin Davies doesn't have a single England cap."

1408: In the build-up to that goal, David Bentley was on the touchline pleading to come back on, so Spurs may feel a bit aggrieved about that although I'm not sure it would have made any difference. Bentley is back on now, wearing the number 49 shirt and a wad of cotton wool up his nose. Nice.

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
Bolton goal: That is a lovely goal. Slick passing in midfield, and Johan Elmander playing a quick one-two with Chung-Yong Lee before squaring for Kevin Davies, who takes a touch before lashing in a deserved opener for the hosts.

1405: GOALFLASH Bolton 1-0 Tottenham (Davies)

1404: Spurs have a corner - but David Bentley has a bloody nose and referee Phil Dowd doesn't want to see any more claret. Bentley heads off for treatment and a clean shirt, so Luka Modric will take the corner instead. Nothing from it.

1402: Decent run from David Bentley down the left, but he's a bit selfish in the end, going for an optimistic shot on goal and sending it right down the throat of Jussi Jaaskelainen. Tottenham coming back into it now.

1358: Spurs relieve the pressure by winning a couple of corners. The second one is delivered by David Bentley straight to Tom Huddlestone on the edge of the box but the midfielder volleys over.

Yellow card
1355: Wilson Palacios into the book for a foul on Fabrice Muamba. Heurelho Gomes pushes Matt Taylor's excellent free-kick around the post. Bolton must be wondering how they're not in front. They are dominating this match.

1354: Silky football from Bolton. Matt Taylor plays in Chung-Yong Lee, who squares for Johan Elmander - but the Swede opts against shooting this time. Probably wise. He backheels it instead, but only to a Spurs defender.

1351: Wilson Palacios is the next to go head-to-head with Chung-Yong Lee. He is penalised for pulling the winger back and Bolton have a free-kick in a decent position on the right. Bolton win a corner from it - but Zat Knight blasts wastefully over. Bolton's shooting boots have gone missing.

1350: What's Chung-Yong Lee done to upset Spurs? Gareth Bale is next to leave the South Korean on the floor - but the Spurs left-back escapes a card.

Yellow card
1348: Tom Huddlestone sees yellow for a crunching late tackle on Chung-Yong Lee.

1345: Oh dear oh dear oh dear. Ricardo Gardner plays a through-ball for Johan Elmander and I must admit, having seen his wayward efforts so far today, I'm wincing as he goes to shoot. Sure enough, the ball flies high and wide and into the crowd. You can't fault the Swede's workrate, his finishing however...

1342: Strong start from Bolton this, Matt Taylor almost setting up Johan Elmander but Tom Huddlestone saving Spurs with a last-ditch tackle. Spurs not at the races yet.

1339: First chance. Chung-Yong Lee provides a brilliant first-time cross from the right and Matt Taylor gets his effort all wrong, but the ball runs to Johan Elmander - whose shot is deflected over by Vedran Corluka.

1336: The fans who have turned up at Bolton are creating a decent atmosphere. Great stuff. Not much to write home about on the pitch though.

From RicheyRevol on Twitter: "Is the Bolton-Spurs game being played behind closed doors?"

1331: The little and large show kick off for Spurs at the Reebok. Decent noise from the visiting fans as we get under way.

From Pacharo, Malawi, via text: "Our President is getting engaged today (how romantic!) but sorry Mr President, am switching channels. Football comes first."
Is his proposal on telly then? How marvellous

1327: Out come the players at the Reebok. There are, er several (ie loads) of empty seats.

From Charlie, via text: "Pav has been injured, constantly asks to leave and showed such a lack of effort in a friendly game earlier this season. Julian Dicks said he wouldn't play him for Grays. I think he has lots of talent but what would it say to rest of the squad to start him? Hope it turns for him but the hero worship is bizarre."
Think 'hero worship' might be a bit strong?!

From Jon, Oldbury, via text: "I have just pulled the same Love Heart out both times in a row - 'I surrender'. Is it just me or are the messages getting more cryptic? Anyhow, here's hoping Spurs don't surrender their only hope of silverware this season."

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp: "It's a big game for us. Bolton are not an easy nut to crack. I've never had an easy game at Bolton since I've been in management. They work hard, and they've got plenty of ability. I'm sure Owen Coyle will do a great job here."

From Bertie, Mid Wales, via text: "Hi CC, would love to see Notts County do it today. They really need the finance from a Cup run."

1317: Drop us a line won't you? I like to think that one of these days I won't have to keep reminding you of my contact details. Get a pen, write it down: it's 81111 (UK) or +44 7786200666 (world) or 606 or Twitter.

1314: TEAM NEWS Bolton v Tottenham
Bolton boss Owen Coyle makes two changes from the side that lost to Manchester City. Tamir Cohen and the cup-tied Jack Wilshere drop out with Ricardo Gardner and Matt Taylor coming in. However, the Bolton boss must do without a host of injured players including Gary Cahill, Ivan Klasnic, Sean Davis and Gavin McCann.
Despite five changes from the team shocked at Wolves, Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp keeps his word to field a strong side at the Reebok Stadium. Luka Modric has recovered from illness while Ledley King has passed a late fitness test. Peter Crouch, Wilson Palacios and Vedran Corluka also return for Spurs. Eidur Gudjohnson and Roman Pavlyuchenko are among the subs.

From Joe, Kent, via text: "Hey Caroline, Spurs fan here. I too am fuming that Pavlyuchenko is on the bench yet again. I think he's got real potential if he's just given a proper chance. Harry is convinced that the Defoe-Crouch pairing is best. I'm not a footy manager, but I'd like to see a Defoe-Pav start for once just to see what materialises."

1309: TEAMS Bolton v Tottenham
Bolton: Jaaskelainen, Steinsson, Ricketts, Knight, Robinson, Lee, Muamba, Gardner, Taylor, Kevin Davies, Elmander. Subs: Al Habsi, Samuel, Riga, Mark Davies, Cohen, Holden, Andrew O'Brien.
Tottenham: Gomes, Corluka, Dawson, King, Bale, Bentley, Huddlestone, Palacios, Modric, Crouch, Defoe. Subs: Alnwick, Pavlyuchenko, Gudjohnsen, Bassong, Kranjcar, Rose, Dervite.

1304: Hadn't realised it was KK's birthday. King Kev is 59 today... I bet he loves a birthday.

From redandblackT1899 on 606: "Happy cynical cheap marketing ploy Day, Cheese! Also Happy Birthday Kevin Keegan."

1258: We're still awaiting full teams from the Reebok Stadium, but I can tell you that Roman Pavlyuchenko is on the bench. What does that guy have to do to get a break? I'm fuming.

1257: First up though, Bolton v Tottenham. Spurs have won once in 10 visits to the Reebok Stadium, and that was a 4-3 extra-time thriller in the 2004/5 League Cup. Jermain Defoe scored twice in that match. Goran Bunjevcevic got one of the others. Sir Les Ferdinand, who replaced Kevin Davies, bagged for Bolton in extra time.

1252: As we discussed yesterday, the recipe for FA Cup success this season appears to be flirting with financial ruin. Yesterday, Portsmouth reached the quarter-finals, but we lost Cardiff. Today, Crystal Palace and Notts County fly the cash-strapped flag.

1245: I don't ask for flowers. I don't ask for chocolates. I don't even ask for champagne*. Just a nice (FA) cuppa and a sit-down will do me fine.
* Don't let that put you off sending any of those items though
