In 2001 Cole leaves United and joins Blackburn and in his first season he scores the winning goal against Tottenham in the League Cup final
Cole leaves Blackburn to join Fulham in 2004 where he makes 31 league appearances, scoring 12 times
Continuing on his travels, Cole finds his opportunities limited at Manchester City
Cole joins his home town team, Nottingham Forest, in July 2008, but after only making only 11 appearances he leaves the club in October and announces his retirement on 11 November
