Darlington 1-0 Bury

A goal in the early stages of the second half was enough for Darlington to beat Bury in a dour quarter-final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Darlington's Franz Burgmeier went close early on with a low drive, while Bury's Ryan Cresswell had a header from a free-kick disallowed for a push.

Alan White hit the winner after Bury failed to clear a Tim Ryan free-kick.

Bury's Andy Bishop lobbed home keeper Prezyslaw Kazimierczak but his effort hit the bar and Darlington held on.
