Ramos wins the Uefa Cup twice with Sevilla, prompting Tottenham to appoint him as Martin Jol's successor in October 2007
Redknapp is offered the Newcastle manager's job in January 2008 but turns it down, saying his "heart is with Portsmouth"

Portsmouth win the FA Cup and Redknapp is touted as a possible England manager before the job goes to Fabio Capello
Tottenham are tipped for great things under Ramos but make a dismal start to the season and he is sacked
Tottenham pay Portsmouth �5m compensation and install Redknapp, 61, as their new manager
And as if by magic, Redknapp's arrival sees Spurs claim their first win of the season, beating Bolton 2-0 at White Hart Lane
