Hull 1-0 West Ham: The visitors start brightly at the KC Stadium with winger Matthew Etherington making bursts forward
West Ham's Herita Ilunga has an effort disallowed and glances a free header wide in a first half devoid of many other clear-cut chances
The second half starts in spectacular fashion for Hull when Michael Turner powerfully heads home Andy Dawson's corner
And Turner's goal proves enough to secure a third successive win for the Tigers and lift them back up to third in the table
Stoke 2-1 Tottenham: Spurs boss Juande Ramos watches his side start nervously in the battle of the Premier League's bottom two
Tottenham are then reduced to 10 men when Gareth Bale brings down Tom Soares in the 17th minute and is shown a red card
As Bale trudges down the tunnel, Danny Higginbotham keeps his cool in blustery conditions to fire Stoke into the lead from the spot
Five minutes later, Darren Bent stabs in an equaliser for the visitors after Alan Hutton's pass is deflected into his path
But there is soon another worry for Spurs when keeper Heurelho Gomes picks up an injury, but he is fit enough to continue to half time
After the break, Stoke restore their lead when Rory Delap arrives at the back post to turn in Mamady Sidibe's tempting cross
There is a lengthy delay when Vedran Corluka collides with Gomes and is stretchered off and taken straight to hospital
That leads to 11 minutes of injury time, during which Ricardo Fuller crashes a penalty off two posts and hits the bar
And to complete another miserable afternoon for Tottenham, Michael Dawson is sent off after lunging at Sidibe
The defeat leaves Ramos with much to ponder as Spurs have two points from eight games - their worst ever start to a season
