Rochdale 2-2 Carlisle (4-2 pens)

Simon Hackney and Gary Madine missed the crucial spot kicks for Carlisle as Rochdale went through 4-2 on penalties.

The game had ended 2-2 after normal time with Michael Bridges giving Carlisle an early lead.

Rochdale equalised through Lee Thorpe who headed home Adam Rundle's cross before taking the lead when Evan Horwood latched onto a poor backpass.

But Carlisle levelled in the 71st minute when Madine long range drive was deflected into the back of the net.
