Alan White scored his third goal in four games as Darlington beat 10-man Huddersfield in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

The goal came on the stroke of half-time as White powered in a Franz Burgmeier free-kick from 10 yards.

Earlier Huddersfield midfielder Gary Roberts was shown a red card for a tackle on Darlington's Ricky Ravenhill.

Huddersfield almost grabbed an equaliser in the second half when Andy Butler headed against the bar.
