Kerr fell out of favour with Hibs manager Mixu Paatelainen
Former Hibernian midfielder Brian Kerr is having signing talks with Major League Soccer outfit Toronto.
Kerr, capped three times for Scotland, is currently a free agent after his contract with Hibs was terminated by the Edinburgh club last month.
Toronto head coach John Carver worked with the 26-year-old during their time at Newcastle United.
And Carver is believed to be keen on signing Kerr for the new season, which begins in January.
The Canadian club lost midfielder Maurice Edu to Hibs' Scottish Premier League rivals Rangers this summer and see Kerr as an ideal replacement.
Kerr, who trained with Toronto on Thursday, came through the youth ranks with Newcastle and, after loan spells with Coventry City and Livingston, joined Motherwell in 2004.
He became a first-team regular at Fir Park but decided against a new contract and moved to Hibs last close season.
Kerr played 31 times for the Easter Road outfit last term but fell out of favour following the appointment of Mixu Paatelainen as manager.
