Edrissa Sonko took advantage of a defensive error to give Tranmere a 1-0 win over Accrington to progress in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Rovers had the better of the first half, but Luke Waterfall, Chris Shuker and Bas Savage all fired wide.

But the goal came after David Worrell was bundled off the ball by Craig Curran, who set up Sonko for a fine 10-yard finish in the 48th minute.

Stanley rarely managed to test Rovers keeper Danny Coyne.
