Morecambe win 4-2 on penalties

Morecambe moved into the northern section quarter-finals of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy with a dramatic 4-2 penalty shootout victory

Shrimps keeper Steven Drench was the hero with two fine saves to deny Shane Tudor and Danny Glover from the spot.

Vale took a two-goal lead into the break thanks to Justin Miller's header and a fine free-kick from Luke Rodgers.

But Morecambe hit back when Garry Hunter slotted home and Jon Newby levelled the scores on the hour.
