Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson arrives in Manchester on Tuesday evening for talks with City

Erikkson arrives at the club's training ground on Wednesday morning where he is expected to be named as manager

The 59-year-old Swede speaks with City chairman John Wardle before meeting the players at Carrington

Eriksson will not be unveiled until prospective new owner Thaksin Shinawatra takes his shareholding in City past 75%

He has plenty of managerial experience, having been in charge at Benfica, Roma, Fiorentina, Sampdoria and Lazio

But he has been out of football since leaving his job as England manager after a disappointing 2006 World Cup

It is the first day back on the training ground for City's players and having Eriksson around will be a real fillip to them

If the deal goes through, Eriksson will succeed Stuart Pearce who was sacked at the end of last season
