Okocha won Olympic gold with Nigeria in 1996 |
Jay-Jay Okocha has signed a one-year contract with Qatari side Sport Club following his release by Bolton. The 32-year-old Nigerian midfielder, who also retired from international duty this season, was let go by Bolton in May after four years at the club.
A spokesman for Sport Club said: "Of course, Jay-Jay is here to help us win some silverware.
"He has passed the medical and will join the team in a training camp in the Czech Republic soon."
Bolton boss Sam Allardyce decided not to offer Okocha a new contract at the Reebok Stadium as he wanted to lower the age of the squad.
Okocha is the latest in list of big names, including Gabriel Batistuta, Marcel Desailly and Paolo Wanchope, to play the twilight of their career in Qatar.
