Campaigning Claire Lewis is player and men's team boss |
Most of you will be glued to the TV, radio or internet over the next few weeks as the world's finest footballers take to the stage.
But forget the feet-up approach, have you thought about actually getting involved in the sport?
Some of you might fancy playing the beautiful game, or trying some coaching, refereeing or receiving guidance on being a parent to your sporting children.
Before flying to Germany Sven Goran-Eriksson and his players launched a campaign for England's governing body, The Football Association, aiming to inspire fans of all ages to contribute to the sport.
The campaign is about providing all the information you need to get started - such as your nearest club, where to do a first-aid course, or how to begin training as a referee or coach.
 | I'd like to think a good showing by England will inspire everyone to get their football kit out and play a part in our national game |
The England boss says: "There can never be enough players, coaches or volunteers in the game and I'm sure everyone that signs up for Get Into Football will gain richly from the experiences."
The campaign encompasses coaching, child protection, disability football, football in schools, girls' and women's football, refereeing and small-sided football and volunteering.
So it doesn't matter what level you want to be involved at, or how experienced you are, or where you live.
If you've got a passion for football then there will be definitely something for you.
There are plenty of opportunities across the country with 270 football development officers on call to publicise, co-ordinate and facilitate local activities.
So check out the FA's website for further details and how to get started.
