Phillips' testimonial match attracted over 2,500 supporters |
Bristol Rovers beat neighbours City 2-1 in a "legends" match on Tuesday, which was a testimonial game for long-serving City goalkeeper Steve Phillips. Over 2,500 fans saw David Mehew give Rovers the lead before Jacki Dziekanowski levelled for City.
The game was settled by a late own goal from ex-City manager Russell Osman.
Phillips, who has played over 200 games for City, told the club website: "I can only thank all the players and all the fans for making it so memorable."
The match was played at Clevedon Town's Hand Stadium.
Phillips played in the testimonial but has made only one first team start in 2006. "Whether that's my last game for the club, time will tell but I need to be playing and I think I'm good enough to be playing," he told BBC Radio Bristol.
"I need to sit down with the manager and the chairman and time will tell if my future is with the club."
