Les Reed is to leave the Football Association after spending the last two years as acting technical director. Reed first worked as a part-time coach with the FA in 1978, and again in 1986.
He joined Charlton Athletic in 1995 before returning to the FA in June 1998 to work with Howard Wilkinson, who he replaced as technical director in 2002.
An FA spokesman told the FA website: "Les Reed has helped to create the platform from which we can launch the next phase of football development."
