 | EX-ENGLAND KEEPER RETIRES |
England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson has paid tribute to David Seaman, who plans to move into coaching following his retirement from the game. Ex-Arsenal goalkeeper Seaman, 40, decided to quit after injuring his shoulder in Manchester City's match against Portsmouth on Saturday.
Eriksson said: "David has been a tremendous professional in a career spanning three decades.
"His name is recognised and respected all over the world.

"I am glad to have had the pleasure of working with David and I know he has earned a place in England's history and he still has much to offer the game in the future."
Seaman won 75 caps during his England career and his last international appearance was in the Euro 2004 qualifier against Macedonia in October 2002, which ended in a 2-2 draw at Southampton's St Mary's Stadium.
He turned down a coaching position at Arsenal last summer to sign a one-year deal with Manchester City but he will consider similar roles after a short break.
"I want to get the shoulder better so I can explore potential goalkeeping coaching opportunities," confirmed Seaman.
