David Beckham's proposed tie-up with pop Svengali Simon Fuller would be a Spice Girls song come true.
But when these Two Become One, is there any reason for England supporters to worry?
After all, reports that Beckham is putting his commercial activities in the hands of Fuller will enable him to concentrate on his football can only be a good thing.
But while it might allow Beckham to focus on football now, it is also a signal that he is already eyeing life outside the game. Perhaps sooner rather than later.
And you will also excuse his former manager Sir Alex Ferguson a devilish vengeful grin. Because he will surely see it as another sign of the increasing influence that Beckham's wife Victoria has over her husband.
It was Fuller's masterful management that propelled the Spice Girls to world domination before they unceremoniously sacked him.

Fuller's considerable fortune is founded on his uncanny ability to find markets and exploit his products as a brand whether it be Spice Girls or Pop Idol, or S Club.
Victoria Beckham's desire to get her pop career back on track saw her plead with Fuller to take her under his wing again.
With another wish fulfilled in getting her husband on board, the pushy pop princess can now arguably clamber aboard his fame bandwagon for a lift.
Fuller once said: "My business is creating fame and celebrity, and I'm one of the best in the world. I know it in fantastic detail."
What that means is that Beckham the footballer will increasingly become Beckham the brand, a product to be pushed, sold and marketed like so many cans of baked beans.
Diversification will be the key to BeckCorps strategy and as the brand strengthens it will increasingly move away from football.
That, in turn, will lessen Beckham's reliance on football and slacken the ties at any time when he should become disillusioned with it.
Fuller's acts are among the world's best-selling pop artists |
Less involvement with football would also help in any battle with Real Madrid over lucrative image rights.
So if Beckham is lining up his ducks for the day when he hangs up his boots what will he do?
The mere fact that he is considering hitching up with Fuller hints that he does not see a future or managing or coaching.
The media? Where do you find a slot for somebody of his undoubted fame?
The Beckhams are already among the most expensive coat-hangers for some of the world's great fashion houses, and they enjoy almost god-like status in the Far East.
One task Fuller would no doubt be charged with is to crack the vast and lucrative American market, which until now has treated the Royal Beckhams with a shoulder colder than a polar bear's.
Acting? Well since Demi Moore's split from Bruce Willis, Hollywood has been panting for a husband-and-wife double billing.
And as Arnie has proved, it is only a small step from the small screen to politics.
If Simon Fuller takes control of Mr Posh Spice's commercial activities, he really has only one question to ask.
So tell me what you want, what you really, really want?
