Norwich have taken Newmarket Town winger Alex Rhodes on a week's trial, following his devastating start to the season in the Ridgeons League Premier Division. The 21-year-old caught the eye in recent matches with three successive hat-tricks and has also attracted the attention of Division Three side Cambridge United.
Rhodes played in Norwich reserves' 2-1 defeat to Northampton on Wednesday.
"We have local scouts as well as those at the national level, and Alex has done so well recently that we have let him come to Norwich on trial," said a Canaries spokesman.
"If there is good, local talent out there then we would be foolish to let it slip through the net."
