All the major action as European champions Real Madrid beat their South American counterparts Olimpia de Asuncion, from Paraguay, to win the World Club Cup in Tokyo.

1143: Real miss a glorious chance to open up a two-goal lead. Midfielder Claude Makelele misses with the goal at his mercy after the lively Ronaldo again causes the Olimpia defence problems.

1133: Real Madrid go close twice in a matter of minutes, with Ronaldo firing wide and then Luis Figo having a shot saved by an increasingly busy Ricardo Tavarelli.

1129: Roberto Carlos tries his luck from outside the area, but Ricardo Tavarelli is again up to the task as the Olimpia keeper tips the ball around the post for a corner.

1121: Raul gets the first chance of the second period but his shot from a tight angle is into the side netting.

1118: The second half kicks off at the International Stadium in Yokohama.

1103: The half-time whistle goes in Yokohama with a confident Real side deserving their 1-0 advantage.

1101: Ronaldo is close to grabbing his second of the game just before the interval after being set up by strike partner Raul, but the Brazilian fires over.

1057: Olimpia continue to look dangerous going forward and midfielder Sergio Orteman's cross finds Miguel Angel Benitez but his weak shot is saved by Real keeper Iker Casillas.

1045: Real begin to take control of the game, with Luis Figo and Zinedine Zidane becoming more of an influence in midfield for the Spaniards.

1030: Olimpia are inches away from a dramatic equaliser when they hit the woodwork within two minutes of going behind.

1028:Ronaldo opens the scoring for Real with a well-worked goal. Zinedine Zidane, Roberto Carlos and Raul are all involved before the Brazilian striker fires home from the edge of the area.

1025: The game continues at a terrific pace and Roberto Carlos is close to breaking the deadlock with a shot from the left hand side, but Olimpia keeper Ricardo Tavarelli does well to tip over the bar.

1020: The Spaniards come close with their first attack of the game when Luis Figo crosses for Ronaldo, but the striker cannot direct his header on target.
