Norejko is ranked fourth in the UK in the U-16s girls sabre

Truro-based fencer Teresa Norejko has qualified for the UK School Games which take place in Newcastle in September.

The 15-year-old gained entry after coming third in the under-16s sabre category at the recent British Youth Championships in Sheffield.

Norejko won seven of her eight fights at the Sheffield event, eventually losing to the UK's number one seed, Aliya Itzkowitz.

By finishing third, Norejko has now risen up to fourth in the UK rankings.
