Hayle celebrate their success at Alexandria in Egypt

Hayle's Surf Life Saving Club picked up an impressive 24-medal haul at the World Championships in Egypt.

Hayle's 11-strong team picked up a tally of five gold, 10 silver and nine bronze medals.

Team manager Alan Roberts said: "We all had a really good time and were blown away with our medal haul.

"All the team did very well but there were some outstanding performances, namely our captain, Dave Park, who won the 35-39 year old Board Race."

He added: "Even though we are this year's Cornish Masters Champions we never imagined we would come home with so many medals and World Champions."
