Skinner struggles at World Games

Skinner will now have to go through the repecharge

Newquay's Ben Skinner has failed to make it through to the second round in the longboard event of the World Surfing Games in Portugal.

But the Jersey-born 23-year-old does have a second chance in the repecharge at Costa de Caparica.

He finished behind French surfer Antoine Delpero and Australia's Harley Ingleby in the heats.

Skinner won silver at the 2006 games in California was hoping to go one better this week.
