Kirtley's action was re-modelled in 2001

The fast bowler has re-modelled his action after being reported in 2001.

Newspaper reports said Lloyd had asked to see footage after the drawn second Test against Sri Lanka, even though the umpires had not mentioned it.

Lloyd said: "Nothing has been reported so Mr Kirtley can rest assured that everything is fine."

Kirtley had to undergo remedial work with former England bowling coach Bob Cottam after being reported by Pakistan umpire Naushad Ali in a one-day international against Zimbabwe.

The ICC passed his new action and Kirtley made his Test debut against South Africa earlier this year.

The match against Sri Lanka was his third Test cap.

Lloyd, a former West Indies captain, said: "I hadn't seen him bowl before and there's obviously been some speculation in the past.

"We will have to keep monitoring the situation as we do with all bowlers.

"I can understand that it has been hard for James Kirtley. I was a cricketer and I understand the guy's position.

"The young guy has had some problems before.

"He has rectified his action and if as such things changed then we would take it from there but at the moment everything is all right."

Peter Moores, Kirtley's county coach at Sussex, was disappointed the issue had once again been raised.

He said: "It is a shame. He got in the side on merit. He got in there ahead of Anderson, Hoggard and Johnson and I thought he bowled quite well in the Test match.

"This takes the focus away from the main thing which is his bowling and how well he is doing at the moment."
