All-rounder Darren Sammy has been ruled out of the West Indies' tour of India with a hamstring injury. Dwayne Smith instead arrived with the squad in Mumbai on Thursday, with the first of four one-day games on Sunday.
Meanwhile, 25-year-old all-rounder Rayad Emrit is looking forward to the challenge of facing the world's best , on his first senior tour.
"I am excited to bowl at [Sachin] Tendulkar and [Rahul] Dravid and hopefully getting them out," he said.
Emrit, a powerful right-hander, has a highest first-class score of 112, his only century at that level.
He has also captured 57 first-class wickets from 23 matches.
He has been named in the provisional 30 for the World Cup and is hopeful of cementing his place in the squad with a strong showing in India.
"My first goal is to get selected in final 11 and then do what I have been doing all the time and that is getting wickets and scoring runs consistently," he said.
"I also see this as a good opportunity to secure a spot in the World Cup."
