Former captain Clive Lloyd has been named as West Indies team manager for their one-day series in India.

Lloyd worked with the team as a special adviser during last year's ICC Champions Trophy, also played in India.

And he will now replace Tony Howard, the manager since 2004, who has become acting chief operations officer of the West Indies Cricket Board.

Barbados coach Hendy Springer, meanwhile, will work as assistant to Bennett King during the tour.

King's regualr deputy, David Moore, is unable to make the trip.

West Indies will play four games in India between 21 and 30 January, the first in Nagpur.

The series will be the last for Brian Lara's side before they attempt to win the World Cup on home soil.

Lloyd was the most successful West Indies captain of all time and led them to victory in the 1975 and 1979 World Cup finals and current skipper Brian Lara will again be looking to draw on his vast experience to help inspire the team.

They have made a number of significant changes with all-rounder Reyad Emrit called up for the first time and seam bowler Darren Sammy back for the first time since 2004.
