 Lara's unbeaten 116 came from just 86 deliveries |
Captain Brian Lara hit an unbeaten 116 to lead West Indies to a four-wicket win over Australia A in Hobart. The win was a pick-me-up for the tourists, who lost their opening warm-up and have one more game before the start of the one-day VB Series.
Lara faced just 86 balls, adding 104 for the fifth wicket with Shivnarine Chanderpaul (42) to pass the hosts' 266-8 with eight balls left.
Dwayne Bravo took 4-42 while David Hussey scored 128 for Australia A.
Opener Chris Gayle scored a brisk 40 for the tourists but Wavell Hinds, teenager Xavier Marshall and Ramnaresh Sarwan all fell cheaply.
Marlon Samuels was bowled by Brett Lee for five before wicket-keeper Courtney Browne hit the winning boundary.
West Indies play Australia in Melbourne on 14 January in the opening match of a triangular tournament, which also involves Pakistan.
