West Indies lost to Victoria by seven wickets in Melbourne ahead of the VB Series starting next week.

The tourists were dismissed for 201 at the MCG, Chris Gayle scoring a blistering 33 at the top of the order.

Wavell Hinds, Brian Lara, Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Marlon Samuels all got starts but failed to push on.

Former Australian opener Matthew Elliott (87) and Nottinghamshire batsman David Hussey (83 not out) saw Victoria home with 18 overs to spare.

West Indies have two more warm-up games against Australia A in Hobart this weekend before the triangular series with Australia and Pakistan starts on 14 January.
