Danish Kaneria and Shoaib Malik have been left out of Pakistan's preliminary 30-man World Cup squad.

The spinner and the former captain have been the subject of a Pakistan Cricket Board integrity committee inquiry.

Wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal and all-rounder Rana Naved-ul-Hasan, who were also investigated, are included.

Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir are still banned over allegations of spot-fixing in the fourth Test against England at Lord's in August.

They have travelled to Doha ahead of Thursday's start of a six-day hearing by the International Cricket Council's Anti-Corruption Tribunal which will consider allegations that no-balls were deliberately bowled during the Lord's Test.

The PCB had been granted an extension to 5 January on naming its World Cup squad while it completed its investigations into Shoaib, Kamran, Kaneria and Naved.

Although the board has not commented on, or charged, Shoaib, Kamran, Kaneria or Naved, none have played for their country since last summer's tour of England.

Acting on advice from the ICC, the PCB established its integrity committee in the wake of that controversial series to ensure a transparent selection process.

A player will be eligible for inclusion only after he has been cleared by the committee.

Pakistan's opening game of the World Cup is against Kenya in the Sri Lankan city of Hambantota on 23 February.

A fourth-place finish in a Group A that also includes Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and Canada would ensure them a place in the quarter-finals.

Pakistan squad: Shahid Afridi, Mohammad Hafeez, Ahmed Shahzad, Nasir Jamshed, Umar Akmal, Younus Khan, Mohammad Yousuf, Misbah-ul-Haq, Umar Akmal, Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Sohail Tanvir, Shoaib Akhtar, Umar Gul, Tanvir Ahmed, Wahab Riaz, Junaid Khan, Abdul Rehman, Abdul Razzaq, Kamran Akmal, Salman Ahmed, Sarfraz Ahmed, Taufiq Umar, Zulfiqar Babar, Rana Naved-ul-Hasan, Yasir Arafat, Yasir Shah, Aizaz Cheema, Naved Yasin, Asad Ali.
