Martin to miss Bangladesh Tests

Chris Martin
Martin has been replaced by Mark Gillespie for the Bangladesh Test series

Chris Martin has been ruled out of New Zealand's Test series in Bangladesh to continue his recovery from a hamstring and lower back injury.

The 33-year-old paceman, who had already been ruled of the three-match one-day series preceding the two Tests, will replaced by Mark Gillespie.

"With a big season ahead it would have been foolish to rush Chris back early," said New Zealand selector Dion Nash.

"He is better at home working on his fitness and strength."

Gillespie is also part of New Zealand's one-day squad, which will play three internationals in Bangladesh from 9-14 October.

The first Test begins in Chittagong on 17 October.
