Dravid's team spent nine days at a training camp in Bangalore |
India captain Rahul Dravid believes his team will be a force in next month's Champions Trophy, which they will host, despite a lack of recent match action. The one-day series against South Africa and Sri Lanka was abandoned, although they now face West Indies and Australia in a triangular series in Malaysia.
"The gap was unexpected but we have four or five matches in the tri-nations before the Trophy," he told BBC Sport.
"Experimentation will continue and we have to see where guys fit in."
The Malaysia final will be staged two weeks before the start of the Champions Trophy.

Dravid's team leave for Kuala Lumpur on Sunday, and have been training hard in recent weeks in Bangalore.
"We have spoken to players to sort out what they want to improve on and they said it was fielding," he said.
"We have practised quite a bit recently and it will remain the focus in the future too."
India will be looking to avenge a 4-1 one-day defeat against the West Indians in the Caribbean earlier this year.
"The team fielded very well in the last few series though not so much in the West Indies," Dravid said.
"We are working on that and we will try our best in this regard.
"We need time to produce results but we will see how we respond to this challenge and we hope to win the tri-nations tournament."
Meanwhile, India coach Greg Chappell has dismissed speculation about his future, amid reports that he is one of the favourites to succeed John Buchanan at the Australia helm.
"The question arises only after my contract expires, which is after the World Cup," he insisted.
"A lot of teams are looking for a change of coach but right now I would term it as purely media speculation."
