Bollinger made his Australia one-day debut against Pakistan in 2009 |
Australia fast bowler Doug Bollinger has been ruled out of the remainder of the World Cup with an ankle injury. No replacement has yet been decided on for the 29-year-old, who missed his side's opening two matches against Zimbabawe and New Zealand. Australia physio Alex Kountouris said Bollinger had suffered "increasing left ankle pain" since arriving in India. "The pain is significantly affecting his ability to bowl and he will not play any further part," he added. Bollinger played in six of the seven matches that made up the one-day series against England earlier this year. The left-armer also took 12 wickets in eight games to help the Chennai Super Kings win the 2010 Indian Premier League. In Bollinger's absence a three-pronged pace attack of Brett Lee, Mitchell Johnson and Shaun Tait have taken a total of 15 wickets en route to dismissing Zimbabwe and New Zealand for 171 and 206 respectively.
