Watson visited his home town of Ipswich after the first one-dayer in Melbourne

Australia's Shane Watson says Sunday's fifth one-dayer against England in Brisbane will be emotional after the floods which devastated the city.

Queenslander Watson and his team-mates donated some of their match fees from the second Twenty20 to the Flood Relief Fund, along with England players.

Australia lead the seven-match rubber 3-1 and can win the series on Sunday.

"It's going to be an emotional day and hopefully that can help pull us over and win the series," said Watson.

The all-rounder hit a match-winning 161 to put Australia 1-0 in front in Melbourne two weeks ago and immediately returned to his hometown of Ipswich, west of Brisbane, to see the destruction caused by the floods.

And the 29-year-old - who along with his team-mates visited a school in Goodna, on the outskirts of the Queensland capital, on Friday - said he hopes the match will further raise publicity for the relief effort.

"One of the very special things that we have as playing for Australia [is] the opportunity to put smiles on kids' faces, even if it's for a split second, to take their minds off the deep-rooted scars for the young kids who have been so badly affected.

"We are in a very lucky position to try and make some difference. It's great that we can show our support because it's been devastating for families out here."

England's players have also been proactive in raising funds for the relief effort, with Kevin Pietersen auctioning $25,000 (£15,685) of equipment used during the Ashes series towards the campaign.

"Our hearts have all gone out to them. It's been pretty shocking, to be honest," said England fast bowler Chris Tremlett.

"The England team have been fully behind it. Personally we have made some donations.

"I imagine it will be an emotional time for people on Sunday. It's great that they've been able to get cricket here and we're glad to be a part of that."

But despite the extreme floods, the Gabba has been largely unaffected by the freak weather, with groundsman Kevin Mitchell Jr expecting no problems with the pitch on Sunday.

England had been 3-0 down in the series until Jonathan Trott's timely century ensured England spoiled the party atmosphere at the Adelaide Oval on Australia Day following their 21-run fourth-match win to reduce the deficit to two.

"It's always a big mountain to climb going 3-0 down, but we've always believed we are a good side and that we can contest against Australia," added Surrey's Tremlett, who has been awarded an incremental contract for the 2010-11 international season by the England and Wales Cricket Board.

"If we can be solid in our batting and keep going well with our bowling there is no reason why we can't do it.

"If you go 3-0 down and you come back and win four in-a-row then that's pretty awesome.

"That's what we're aiming to do. It would be pretty special if we could do that. We're taking one game at a time and we'll try to play like we did the other day."

Meanwhile, fast bowler Tim Bresnan said he is "definitely confident" he will be fit ahead of next month's Cricket World Cup.

The all-rounder sustained a calf injury during the second one-day defeat in Hobart and was ruled out for the remainder of the series, along with off-spinner Graeme Swann.

But his recovery plans have been on track since his return to England.

"I'm having physio every day," Bresnan told BBC Sport. "The medical staff have it all in hand."
