 | He's realising that a change of pace could be a good thing out here |
Captain Paul Collingwood says England spinner Monty Panesar will work on pace variations during the testing series of five one-day matches in Sri Lanka.
Collingwood said: "His one-day bowling has been pretty good so far but he's got a long way to go.
"These conditions out here will suit him and he's realising that a change of pace could be a good thing out here.
"He needs to mix his pace more. (Kiwi) Daniel Vettori is a hard spinner to hit because of his change of pace."
The England skipper has also backed young paceman Stuart Broad to bounce back from the horror of being hit for six sixes in an over in the ICC World Twenty20.
"He's someone who learns a lot in the nets, he's always asking questions," Collingwood said of Broad.
"He's not happy at all to have gone for six sixes in an over but it will not do him any harm and he'll learn a lot from that experience."
