England spinner Monty Panesar is seeing a psychologist to steel himself for the abuse he is expected to receive from Australian fans during the Ashes.
England's left-arm spinner has had special sessions with team psychologist Steve Bull, and will try to use any insults as a spur to lift his game.
"I have spoken to Steve. He's one who can help with that sort of stuff," Panesar, 24, told The Sun.
"I'll try to use it as a positive energy. You expect the worst."
The Northamptonshire bowler, who gained cult status as one of the stars of the Test series win over Pakistan, is regarded as one of the poorest fielders on the international circuit.
If, as seems likely, he makes errors in the field, many observers feel Australian fans would be quick to mock him.
Panesar said: "I've prepared for the worst-case scenario but it could be even worse than that.
"Whatever happens from the crowd will happen.
"If you expect the worst and it's even worse than you imagined - well at least you are not going to be too surprised by it."
