Australia opener Matthew Hayden says he is unconcerned that England have stuck with an unchanged squad for the second Ashes Test at Edgbaston this week. The hosts have decided to stick with the same line-up despite losing by 239 runs in the first Test at Lord's.
"I don't really care that England have named an unchanged squad," said Hayden.
"The onus will be on our batsmen to bat a little bit better this time around and then it doesn't matter what side England are going to pick."
Hayden hit 79 as Australia warmed up for the game by reaching 406-9 on a slow New Road wicket in the three-day tour match with Worcestershire.
And the 33-year-old believes the batting practice will stand his side in good stead as they expect a similar wicket at Edgbaston.
"Andrew Flintoff and Steve Harmison hit the deck pretty hard and can bowl some genuinely quick balls, as they demonstrated at Lord's," he added.
"But I think we can plan on the wicket being reasonably slow at Edgbaston which will play into our hands. This work-out at Worcester will certainly help in terms of our preparations. "We will have a look when we get to Birmingham and you have to adjust. You can only bat on the wicket you have been given but we are confident."
