England captain Michael Vaughan said Monday's victory over New Zealand sealed a perfect few days for him. "I had a little baby on Friday night, I've been playing on my home ground and now we have clinched a Test series against a very good New Zealand side.
"Last night we put New Zealand under pressure by taking our chances and taking early wickets."
On man of the match Geraint Jones, Vaughan said: "He is exciting. His innings yesterday changed the game."
Vaughan, who watched Jones hit a maiden Test century in his third Test on Sunday, was also on the balcony when Marcus Trescothick hit the winning runs in his 30 not out to go with his 132 on Saturday.
Trescothick said: "It has been a great week. It was tough for the first few days but we dug in deep and showed the true character we have got."
After the third day, England did not look in a good position to win, but Vaughan said: "We knew that with Freddie [Andrew Flintoff] out there and Geraint Jones still to come we could always get a lead and put them under pressure.

"I think it's been a fantastic Test match played in a superb spirit."
Jones said: "Everyone is bouncing off the walls in the dressing-room and going crazy. We are loving it and the champagne is flowing.
"We were very wary of New Zealand leading into the series and were expecting a good battle. So to go 2-0 up after two Tests is fantastic.
