There is an old adage about not changing a winning team so I am hoping we stick with the same XI for the third Test.

So far the structure has worked very successfully but I'll have to wait and see on Thursday If I've been selected again.

I know I have not performed brilliantly with the bat yet but I have been working hard in the nets and during practise sessions too.

Geraint Jones is knocking on the door to get his chance behind the stumps and scored a decent amount of runs in the tour match against the Carib Beer XI.

There is a healthy rivalry between us but we both wish each other well and it's up to the selectors to choose.

England have performed very well with the ball with the seamers, in particular Steve Harmison, doing the damage and our batting has been gutsy and determined.

We have played on two wickets and got first innings leads on both of them.

To go into the third Test with a 2-0 lead is virtually unique in this part of the world so we are very confident about winning the series and going 3-0 up.

It's a great feeling to be in this position but we have got to be careful not to let it slip.

Their pride is hurt and we know the West Indies will come back at us at some stage so we have got to be prepared for that.

There is talk of 20,000 England fans being over here for the Test.

So we have to perform to our best ability, not just for ourselves, but for the supporters too.

Darren is a great character so we can't wait for him to join up with us Read on Gough's call-up

We are aware of the turmoil in the West Indies camp but what happens off the field and in the papers is far removed from the on-field activities we have to deal with.

Our wives and girlfriends flew out to join us in Barbados.

My fiancee Louise is getting ready for her law degree finals at Nottingham University but she has found time to sunbathe as well as concentrate on her studies.

We went snorkelling off the West Coast the other day which was terrific and a lot of fun.

I've been told I'm in the one-day squad for the seven matches against West Indies and Darren Gough is back too.

He is a proven performer and our leading wicket-taker in the one-day game so it will be great to have that kind of experience around.

Darren is a great character as well so we can't wait for him to join up with us.
