Kruis was Yorkshire's leading wicket taker in 2005 and 2006 |
South African paceman Deon Kruis has rejoined Yorkshire for 2009, a week after the county announced his exit. Yorkshire lost patience with the 34-year-old's delay over agreeing a new deal, but he asked them to reconsider. "I know the club were keen to make a decision and felt I had taken too long to make my mind up," said Kruis. Yorkshire chief executive Stewart Regan said: "Having heard him say he does not want to play cricket for anyone else then that is good enough for us." He added: "His performances at the end of the season were outstanding and he has got a lot to offer us going forward." And Kruis conceded: "I have spent the last few nights worrying about where I would be playing my cricket in 2009. "I hope I can put the events of the past week behind me and join the squad next March to hopefully win some silverware." He will join the squad in Abu Dhabi in March when Yorkshire defend the Pro-Arch Trophy they won earlier this year.
